Russell Richard was married several times, one unknown, Mary Ann Trudgett on 21/07/1891 and divorced on 22/10/1901, Sarah Emma Paris on 12/07/1911, and a Gertrude Hicks date unknown.

The story goes that he married in England then he turned up in Australia and married again, he was on a coastal ship that sunk and was believed lost. He turned up again in New Zealand, I have a copy of a birth certificate for a son born in Auckland to him and Gertrude, he then disappeared again and some time later in 1903 he was in Victoria British Columbia in Canada.

He got the story about Russel Richard from Donna Sinclare (nee Hollis) in Queensland Australia, she was looking for her G.G.Grandfather Russell.

Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that Bert is descended from Joseph Thomas Hollis the son of Joseph William Hollis and Maria Worster, but from another Joseph Hollis who was born is Staffordshire.

Theresa Mason is the 1st Wife.
Mary Ann Trudgett is the 2nd Wife.
Gertrude Mary Susan Hicks is the 3rd. (Although no record can be found)
Sarah Emma Paris is the 4th.
